Looks pretty sweet alright, but seems quite similar to the MPC in a lot of ways, so I'm guessing a lot of the stuff I wouldn't use - could always sell the MPC I suppose, but I'm pretty attached to it! Do you have that as well as an MPC?pretty sure youve already made your buying decision but, I own the following devices Eh 2880,Electrix Repeater, and the Kp3... out of all these boxes the Repeater wins hands down for live on the fly applications, the drawback to this box however is the fact that it is discontinued (making it an expensive investment due to its rarity) and its all but impossible to find a compact flash card to use with the device... the 2880 would be the cheaper alternative for several reasons 1.it is still on the market and widely available 2. your using it for live use, you shouldnt worry about storing your loops on it, you are going to use your MPC, store your loops there (thats what its for) 3.the compact flash memory is unlimited so your loops can be as long as you want 4. its cheap and it will sync up to your mpc. hope this helps...and by the way if youve got the cash to buy at least two out of the three units just do yourself a favor and get a laptop with abelton live then you wouldnt need any of the afformentioned devices.
Hmmmmm...really don't know now. I think I might borrow my friends KP3 for a night and see how I get on with it. If I end up getting annoyed that I can't sample for longer, I'll know that I'll be better off with the 2880.
