white noise/interference issues

i was making some beats when i turned up the volume levels to full on my mpc,as well as my speakers ,heard a lot of white noise AND some fm radio interference........ on some 'paranormal activity' bs
(audio cables were connected from my laptop outs to mpc ins) ,is there anyway of eliminating all this ? thanks

Why do you have the volume level all the way up? That might be your problem

There will invariably be background white noise if you cane the monitor gains up.

However, RF interference is something else and you need to look at maybe getting some shielded cables or finding the source (ie, is it next to a transformer, amp etc).

Did you sample it?

the radio noises are the cables and it could also be the hissing noises as well

i put the volume all the way up to determine how much white noise there actually was,i tried switching off everything else connected to the same power supply (tv,satellite receiver,dvd,etc..) but to no avail,so it definitely must be the cables,are there any specifics i should look for when getting new audio cables ? thanks

Are you talking about the RFI (radio shit) or the white noise?

Some TT cartridges are really sensitive to radio transmission (looking at you Stanton). Your body also can act like an antenna--do you notice the amount of radio interference changes as you move around or touch different parts of the gear in your setup? This might be a way to help determine where it is coming in from.

Have you taken your MPC to a priest to have an exorcism performed on it?

Do you have the input thru on? Turning it off will reduce some of the noise.

is your laptop's power cord plugged in? if so unplug the power.

Ever considered using conditioned power? One of the first things I learned and jumped on was getting a couple of rack power conditioners (furman & eta) for those RFI & EMI problems I was dealing with. Though this did tame a majority of the noise issues I was having, it didn't do away with it all together.

The rest came from the types of cabling I used, as well as which group of cables got wired together, and where they got routed.

But def avoid the spaghetti syndrome if you can.
