New kits for MCD in 2000 classic no solder, UPDATE!! PICS!!!

OK guys, I updated my original post (way up top) with pics of each component.

only 5 kits left now.

Im sorry if this is a stupid question, but if i wanted to keep my floppy drive in my mpc, would i be able to use one of these as an external card reader?

yes/no.

the floppy uses a different data cable but the IDE card reader will use the power slot on the mother board. that is the issue.


also, IDE card readers are not hot swappable, however because it is going via scsi I am not sure what will happen... but I highly suspect they will not be hot swappable.

also, good hustle... getting a bunch of buck parts together and repacking them is a smart idea. I was able to get IDE card readers similar to those for $1 including shipping when you buy just one... in bulk they wind up costing around 30 cents each when you buy like 5... and so on.

All the kits are sold now. If anyone else want to do this mod, just PM for a list of parts/manufacturers you'll need.

and the cards an be changed without turning the machine off, but you have to switch to a different scsi device while you're switching cards. I usually switch to flash rom (even though there's non installed)
