MPC OS 1.2 on zip disc for Internal flash card reader

What's up mpc heads out there i just brought a used mpc 2000 xl in excellent condition from ebay and i wanted to fully load it up so i ordered a compact flash reader from mpcstuff i had also ordered a zip disc with 1.14 os since it was the only os i could find and loaded it in. Now i hook up the card reader into my mp it lights up and everything but it doesn't read it keeps telling me no floppy installed. I emailed the help center at mpcstuff and they are saying without os 1.2 it won't work but my question is since my mp came with an internal zip disc where do i find os 1.2 on zip. I have searched ebay and every possible online seller nothing. I really don't want to pay 60 bucks for a crappy floppy reader just to upgrade and then have no use for it.

Download the OS and put on a zip.

Thanks sabatoge but how would i get it on zip my computer has no zip drive

This is tricky. You either need to find a way to get the 1.20 file in a zip, or find someone else to do it for you. Anyhow, the XL won't see the flash drive unless you install the 1.20 OS in it (1.14 is for zip drives).

Buy a cheap 2nd hand zipdrive with USB and put OS 1.20 on. This will allow both cardreader & zip. But don't buy from rip-off sites charging mad green just because it happens to be compatible with MPC..

And never go back to da bloody 1.14,i almost threw my MPC out of the window one day because of corrupted zips.

Thanks a lot guys i found some guy on e bay named midi mark and he's selling the zip discs with 1.2 installed for 13 bucks so i should be getting my zip disk in about 3 days

I have 1.14os on 2kxl, Atapi MCD and works fine with 512mb Lexar CF cards.

1.20 is for CF cards 1gb+

1.14 is for floppy drives, zips and card drives but for use with UNDER 1gb cards.

1.14 does not accept IDE cardreaders..

1.20 is for CF cards 8mb+
