recording a track by triggering via midi (reaper help)

i have a small problem... with reaper and recording!!!!
i am using an mpc 2500 an i want to record 4 tracks at the same time.
and than i want to record again 4 tracks.... in oder that the tracks are not shifted in the end... i need for all those
tracks the same start point.... even if one track only has one sound in the midde of the song....
i want reaper to record when i press play at my mpc....

so what i´ve done ist that i connected my mpc via midi to my soundcard (terratec phase 88 rack). i know that the connenction is working, cause when i press play on my mpc a track in reaper starts to play.... BUT i want that the track starts recording... pushing the arm button is not helping....

hope that for you guys this is an easy question....

p.s. i did use the search function and i also browsed the manual... but midi is not my friend (so far).

so when you arm track in reaper and hit play on mpc, no audio is being recorded ?

yes... i can only trigger play and stop...
any suggestions...
i already got a tip to use In the action list type "transport"... and used to "map" the start button to transport/record.

why not arm tracks using command key, mouse or one of those mini control surfaces...my guess it's done that way so you dont end up recording on both at the same time.

i figured with the help of a friend out... that you cannot map the start / stop buttons via midi

1st u need to enable midi cc/mmc

options/preferences/midi device
right click on your midi device and enable midi cc /mmc

then right click the transport and slave Reaper to the mp
