I remember I wasn't able to make a chord on pads, but that was long time ago, and since I've jumped into keyboard it was solved automatically. I remember I had this issue only when I wanted to do bass sound and I wanted to stack one another on top of it... yep yep it was only experiment.

Most likely it is polyphony, but when you turn on MPC fresh and make new program it's basic Polyphony is 64 so you can play 64 sounds simultaneously, anyway go into Program mode then into MISC. and there you have polyphony if it's set to 1 set it higher and see the result. If it's not the case you can also find next polyphony settings under Program mode > KG MIX> PITCH. You will see Polyphony there for certain sounds and if it's also not the case next to polyphony is mute group setting. If the samples are in the same mute group they gonna mute each other. Hope that helps.

Thanks for getting back to me. I checked the polyphony like you said and its all on 64, with all mute groups being set to OFF.

Seems I'm the only one trying to help ya.
Any troubleshooting you tried so far? Maybe now try if U can do this on keyboard if U have one. Otherwise send me your Program with all the settings that causes this problem and samples ofc. so I can have a closer look.

You ARE the only one helping me.

I haven't loaded any programs. Just loaded a loop, assigned it to pad, and recorded in SEQ EDIT.
Like I try to bang it out freestyle, and some notes just don't play as recorded, they sound half-arsed when played back if ya know what I mean. I tried assigning same sample to two separate pads and still the same problem.

Obviously I'm no expert but it seems like a regular bug on the 4k, but it seems you haven't had such problems with yours... Don't know man, I'm pulling out my hair at the mo.

if i read the message correctly.. htis is what i do..
if i want to use tha same samp or whatever u assign the sound to lets say pad1 well if that pad is recorded and u hit that pad while its playing back it will stop the sample etc.. but if u copy the same sample and put it on a diff pad lets say pad2 and hit it while the one recorded plays it should let u layer it or do whatever u want todo...if i read the ? right this is what i do..

That's exactly the same way I get around it as well. However I feel as if we don't have to do that, the samples shouldn't be cancelling each other out like that.
