Issue using MPC 60 II in mono mode

Does anyone else notice that when putting drums in mono mode on their MPC 60, it makes a pop/static/click sound when a drum hit cuts off a closely sequenced previous hit. I noticed this on lower frequency drums, like 808 kicks, toms etc. Is this normal? If it is, it kind of makes mono mode useless in my opinion.

I'll try to post audio examples later today, I have a MPC1000 too so I know how mono mode should correctly sound when a note cuts off the previous note.

Perhaps because you don't do chords on drums that often.. =) No but seriously, why not? I do that with drum sounds all the time.
