some things are red flagged... and somethings are randomly inspected.
i'm not saying that this is what happened.... but, it is a possibility.
most things, as long they have proper documents (paper work) never get touched.

hey

i checked the package : the custom form specifies "not opened".
i called customs to be sure, they confirmed that they put a BIG orange sticker when they open a box, can't miss it when there is one on the box - which is not the case anyway.

the mpc has two major issues not related to each other : a dead pad and a faulty screen. saturday the screen worked fine for almost 20 mn, and then it was gone again. The seller (Deta!L ) bought that mpc to a studio and sold it to me.

I assume that those two issues were here before and Deta!L could not see it when he switched on the mpc to take a few pictures before sending it to me.

I asked Deta!L to refund my money back. I offered to pay for shipment + half of original shipment + half of paypal fare, which sounds pretty fair given the time and money i just lost....

No, that was me being sarcastic, which is probably not appropriate...let me explain, I originally posted this to help bachabulu figure out what had happened to the MPC. Obviously all the BS I would like to handle behind the scenes, but at this point I guess it's gone too far.

The MPC was working perfectly before I mailed it out, after I ship it I can't control what happens to it. The pictures verify that it was working and I did play around with it with the Motif sounds that were included...all pads work, the display worked, tip top. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't BS people, I describe what I sell to a T...even if I could have charged more for a less accurate description or whatever. I have a 100% feedback on Ebay since 1999/2000.

I've been completely scammed before and gotten nothing to show. I've also received goods that were damaged and it was on me, not the person that sent it to me. UNLESS where I ordered it was a business, in which I could return it. I am not a business, nor do I profess to be. I also don't have a warranty period, or a separate business account to hold funds for 30 days and offer refunds. This "risk" is reflected in the price of items on the used market. If I was a business I could charge more because of this return period, but the price would be higher. Bachabulu is asking for a full refund + half of the shipping costs. No can do. I agree that it sucks the screen somehow stopped working, but after that much time, after you opened it up and meddled with the inside of it, after you've done whatever with it, I can't be liable. I offered to help you find a replacement screen and get the problem solved which is what is reasonable.

true. but detail put his big phat foot in his mouse by airing out his own business, only to have the buyer actually be a member of this site and see what he wrote. Unbelievable!!!

BTW- I'm just busting his chops for putting that Neko quote of me in his signature.. LOL

And what have we learned today?

1. Next time contact eBay (or PayPal) instead of mpc-forums
2. When sh*t don't work, sh*t don't work return it don't try to fix it
3. 100% feedback can also means you were the first
4. Always ask about returns before you bid on a non-dealer item like this
5. Watch out for gear flippers since they don't know the item

Not passing judgement but seriously this was handled wrong in so many ways and now has to get ugly for no real reason.
