Actually gonna have to say ease of use is damn near the same with jj os1 as it was with my 2k classic. Gotta say the usb and hd option make the 1k far easier to backup files. No more fighting with my computer to back up or open files(except old projects from the 2k  ) and yes I had mpc editor and mpcpgmmaker, didn't help too much. Also no paying $300+ for a new lcd(if you can find one), no using zip drives or paying $170+ for a hotswap scsi cardreader(2k classic, I know ide and atapi drives for the xl are cheaper). In saying that, I still think the 2k sounded better and **** who ever's about to say it's all in my head, you're full of **** . Go a/b the 2 next to each other with the same sample, I did right before selling the 2k, let's just say there was a noticeable difference in the sound. The 2k's build also kills the 1k, better pads(much better imo) and I miss the data wheel :(.

Why not keep the 2k and use it as midi master to the 1000? or store huge sound library onboard 1000 harddrive and sample into the 2k as needed through the analog inputs?

1.Because the screen was shot aka I couldn't see shit, not just a few lines and I didn't feel like dropping $300+ on a new lcd. 2. It's chilling in somebody else's house cause they bought it.

ive used it in together with the mp few times but i prefer using it on it's own, i should actually use it more cause i tend to start a beat with the mp so fast cause i already know the workflow and the machine 100% in and out

photo is about 6 months old, nothings changed cept the KP3 Pad was ditched. I'm sure someone will point out the monitors aren't in the best spot for the MPC, but most work is done with headphones.

I need to spend alot more time in this room.
