starting on my setup

aight look i want some good opinions before i go n get the wrong equipment...

besides the mpc1k (which i already bought)

ok so ive got my turntable, and i got a wack mixer thats effed up..and im looking into
a more pro-mixer..but at an affordable cost...ive been looking into a mackie 802 vlz3 mixer...but i just want any opinions to see if this is a good mixer to get...or should
i look elsewhere?

is that your whole set up - 1k and a turntable?
are you going to do all your arranging and mixing in the 1k? or use a computer and DAW?

Well as of now yes that's my whole setup...but my plans r too get a nice synth..or a rack n midi keyboard as well

And yea I'm planning on sequencing on the MP..then recording the finish beat onto acid pro 7

Can't go wrong with a Mackie.

Make sure u also get a good interface. Don't know if u want to record everything as a multitrack, otherwise it may also be a good idea to check those firewire interface mixers.
They can be used for 'normal mixing' and act as ur interface at the same time.

Although the new Mackies have a firefire option for direct multitrack recording into the computer. But these are quite expensive.

well i ended coping the mackie 802 vlz3..

so with this...can i use it to mixdown and record my beat on a DAW with an interface?

and im also going use this same mixer to sample off my records

Yes. Don't know if u want to mix it down on the mackie and only want to record the two track version with ur computer, or that u want to record everything from the mackie into the computer as a multitrack.
There are interfaces for both methods.

With correct routing this shouldn't be a problem. Watch out for groundloops though.
