Speaking as someone who has moved multiple times during my record collecting career, I can attest to the importance of weeding out the collection as much as possible... I would almost rather move one piano than 5,000 LPs....
The thrifts end up getting most of my discards, the only problem is trying not to rebuy something I dropped back off at the thrift store.
