MPC effects in Reason 2.0?/Heavy samplin Producers & Reason

For those of you who use the MPC as a midi controller when using Redrum or Nnxt or other devices in Reason: Is it possible when you have Reason and the MPC hooked up to do MPC Functions such as "16 Levels, Attack, Tuning, Resample, Decay.....etc" and all that?

I know you can use the MPC as a controller but i'm not sure if u can use the MPC effects on a particular pad when triggering sounds from Reason. Being that the actual sound is not on the MPC, but is a Midi file, i'm not sure if its possible to do the mpc effects on it.

Im really feeling Reason since I downlaoded the demo, but am not too sure how it would work with the MPC, as i do heavy sampling but want Reasons sounds [any heavy samplers out there with Reason that can hellp a brotha out?].

Also, since Reason cannot record audio, how do you finish up your beats?? Do you then dump all this midi information into Protools or something, to record?

but, the way I record with reaosn as of last night, is I use reason as a sound module. I sequence reason on the MPC and then I use reason as a sound module to record into another multitracker program. I run a P3 733 and I aint noticed any problems with running cool edit pro (my multitracker) and Reason side by side. I can use resaon efx and stuff, and then use the mpc and its efx too.

I dont like using reason as a master, I prefer to use the MPC's midi timing, which I find superior to all others and one of the main reasons to have an MPC so why not use it?

i use reason 2.0 rewired into cubase SX. i use the mpc to control reason sounds. i dont take my stuff from the mpc into reason and no you would have to reset any tuning or attack/decay changes and anything like that once the sound is loaded in reason. i sample into my computer. i use recycle to slice up samples and load them in the dr rex player in reason. then i can use the mpc to play the slices. i can also load individual slices (drums work well) into redrum. its more of a different approach. i dont start songs on the mpc then finish them in reason, i just do it all in reason these days.

So Dr. Foo, your setup is kinda like MPC midi'up to Reason, with Reason rewired into a multitracker program on your PC [such as Cubase SX which Brainwashcloth uses]. This enables you to place Reason's sequence on a particular track, while placing the MPC sequence on another track within your multitrracker program correct? You get kinda the best of both worlds: Reasons synth capablities and MPC.

But how would you go about hearing both sequences at the same time? [im new to midi so this maybe an obvious question]. Once there Midi'ed together can you hear them at the same time??? Since the two are really only connected within your multitracker software, would you have to record both sequences [MPC&Reason], into the software in order to hear them at the same time? to run mpc sequences along side reason sequences you only need to midi them up for sync. see the sync setup on mpc (shift+9) you would tell the mpc to send mtc and mmc and set both the mpc and reason to the same tempo. that's really all there is to it. then when you hit play on the mpc, reason will start playin too.

Yep thats my rig. Nope you dont need to record both sequences to hear them, as a matter of fact I only like to record one track at a time, but thats just a holdover from my portastudio days (ahhhh remember when a portastudio cost like 300 bux? hahahah)

but I am now running reason on an outboard PC, just so that I can save processor power on the one I use for recording, I even run fruity loops since I kinda like the synth that it has in it, good for making ghost note sounds in the background, but I wouldnt use it as a lead....

i've heard alot about the mpc 4000 and wow those new widescreen imac's look hot!
