what do yall consider a easier way to get a groove with your sample using note on and playing the mp like a piano or using one shot with mute groups and playin the mp like boondoc does ???

I see some industry producers use the note on method like 88keys,black milk

Depends on sample and beat and the result I'm looking for.
Sometimes I have programs where all my samples are one shots, except let say pad 6 and pad 14. First row of pads assigned to mute group one, and the rest of the pads assigned to mute group two. Don't let the programming dictate the beat. But let the beat dictate the programming.

I was wondering because I been trying the one shot method and its really been throwing me off, im bout to start doing note on and experiment with that, that way I can release when I want to cut the sample short right
