First days w/2500.. learn w/akai os or go straight to JJ?

My 2500 will be on my doorstep in 2-3 days. I'm def going to jjos (2 or 2xl) My question is should I drop JJ in immediately, don't even bother with Akai os, or should I learn it a bit w/ akai and then jump to jj after I get the hang of it? Im pretty good with learning gear and I do RTFM's.. The lack of a hardcopy jj manual has got me worried.

i learnt all the basic knowledge with the akai OS. however, the manual caters for the JJOS 3.09 (free jjos) perfectly anyway, so you are better off downloading it anyway. after you have got to grips with everything on this OS then you may start to think of getting the pricey OS's, i still use the free one it's all you really need for BOOM BAP shit, lolz.

nutshell: get the free OS from get-go. whatever is replaced or upgraded is mentioned on the OS website.

no problem, also make sure you consult the FAQ thread in the JJOS topic. all information on how to install it without any major disasters are located there. helped me out loads.

i'm not going to bother reading one word of this thread.. only to say:

just get the free jjos for starters. it's like the version of the akai os that should have came with the machine right from the factory... there is NO REASON to use the akai os. i repeat, the free jj os is like getting a free os upgrade... come on mane. don't take our words for it, please... just try it out. it takes 1 second to try and go back to akai os if you actually wish.
