wav to snd

Apart from the tool on mpc3000.com, there is a piece of software that can convert wav into snd files. Anyone know the name of this soundeditor? Is it Goldwave?

Somehow wavsnd doesn't work on my pc, so I want to try something else.

Yeah, I couldn't get Wav2Snd to work either. Use MPCEditor, you shouldn't have any problems with that.

I think you may be referring to Awave, it works good, but I just use MPC Editor myself

GOLDWAVE works with the MOTOROLA/SUN/AU *.SND format ... a different thing all together. IE, NOT MPC compatible *.SND files.

COOLEDIT PRO/ADOBE AUDITION are the same as GOLDWAVE with regard of *.SND files.

The MPCEDITOR or AWAVE STUDIO are the only main two tools on pc platforms that deal with MPC compatible *.SND files.

I wanted to buy Awave some time ago but they didn't accept credit card payments then. A little later I received a mail that it was now possible to pay this way.

I have been a registered user of Awave since before it was called Awave Studio ... way back around version 2.x ... They accepted credit cards way back then ... and have ever since

Make certain that it is "Awave Studio" you're purchasing.

NOTE:

The big guys get the high star ratings and yet still fail to include important import and export formats for sound files that are specific to certain ( several thousands of ) users.

IE: *.SND ( MPC TYPES )

One day they'll get it.

Support the developers who look after our needs I say.

Hey Rohan, I think it was about a year ago, maybe a bit longer. I don't know if it makes any difference since I'm from the Netherlands, but I then received a mail that I had to put money on Paypal first. Then transfer it to them. That's what put me off buying it.

The trick to getting wavsnd to work is to have it (or the sounds you are converting) in a place on your computer with no spaces in the filepath!.

if its in C:Documents and Settings/etc... it will not work and say it doesnt recognize the sound formats. if its in C:Audio/etc... it should work fine!

the way i do it is give it a folder in a nice spot, and copy files i want to convert to that folder, then convert them. works great and, unlike awave the program is free and only 9k
