switching os

So I'm finally making the leap from the stock os on my 2500LE, to jjos, after getting BS glitches: "wrong file" "systen error" and "name already exists" when trying to save anything. Already spent a whole day recreating a banger I did, after discovering it didn't save any sounds to the programs I had made.. so sick of this shit. So my question is.. do I need to backup/save my work to my comp b4 installing the jjos?? And which jjos is best to use.. I'm just tryna make some music yo, hate this technical bullpoop.

Don't have to backup your files when you change OS.

Just start with the free version (3.09) its what I use. Then later decide if you wanna upgrade

To me, it only makes sence to upgrade to JJ. At least the free version. Why not? If you own an Mp 1000 your in a unique position to add almost every feature from the much more expensive 2500. Even if you don't plan on using a lot of the added features, they're always there as an option. Plus, it gets rid of the saving issues your having. I use regular version 2, not the xl. As far as which one, it really is all personal preferance. Check the comparison chart on the site. and welcome to a much more powerful MPC

Just got my 2500 in the mail yesterday (paid more used than I could have gotten one NEW from GC... WHATEVER)

anyway I switched to JJfree from os1.0 after 10 minutes. Saved the .bin to my CF card, put the card back in the MPC, turn it on, hit LOAD, find the .bin file, DO IT, and then you're good to go. You don't have to backup your work, it'll be there when you turn the machine back on in JJ.
