Fatal Errors

I know this has been talked about in the past, but I was wondering if there are any fixes for it?
I read that people have swapped ram and hd, but had no luck with that.

Just thought I'd ask if anyone had anything new on this.

What fatal errors do you get?
what exactly happens?
do the errors happen after a given command or at random

a bit hard to help when you give no details

If I were you I would take it straight to a shop to get it fix but that is just me.

I was getting that error EVERY TIME I tried to load a certain folder, the same folder.
I deleted the folder, haven't had the problem since.

You can reload the operating system into flash yourself through USB or from a CD file and instructions available from akaipro.com. If the unit is not booting - we have a jig to reflash the boot block.

If your getting the Fatal error message, may be due to defective flash rom ic's on the CPU board. If this is the case, estimate to replace the suspect IC's is $195.00 labor + $55.00 parts. Currant turn around time is 10-12 days.

Oh damn! I can't believe I didnt select the notify on this one. Sorry guys! My bad on the details too.

What I ended up doing was formatting the 4k's HD and re copying my original folders over. I left off the new ones that had been synched with aksys. I havent used aksys since and also have not gotten the error's again. (basically what Lamp mentioned, but before I just read this thread)

I have a hard time believing that aksys is that buggy to cause error on the mpc, but you never know. I dont know what all aksys copies to memory on the 4k while the synch is going on either.

Normally, I would lean to ram issues but I never had a problem before using aksys to copy folders/samples over.
