I use both and they are DOPE but I prefer the SM7B for voicover work as opposed to songs.

I feel you on SM7b, but I do like that "broadcaster" sound in certain instances tho'.

I got a shure unisphere 1 model pe 56d, made in 1952, but built like a tank. Got it with the plastic case for 3 quarters at an estate sale.

Schoeps mics are very good, too! If you're looking for a very neutral mic these are the ones to go for. It's small diaphragm, but for example the Rolling Stones use nothing else for recording vocals. You can get cases that pretend a large diaphragm mic, if your artist needs that!

These and the Brauners would be my choice, if someone gave me 10,000 $ and said "But you have to spend it on mics!"

And also cosign on the preamp sentiment. Don't go spend thousands on a mic and run it through a $20 preamp like the one in your 828...

yea... ive recently been messin around with the antares microphone modeler.. obv i dont expect it to be 100% accurate but u can select loads of different mics to emulate certain other mics.. the variation is massive.. hard to ever know what u sound best on i guess.. too many variables when spending loadsa cash in the studio innit.. i was also thinking that the 828 mk3s preamps are alright for the mic? are they not reallY?

Hey...guys...U know i have bought karaoke microphone for myself as i have participate in a singing competition so i had need for that & it's really nice as it's all features r worthy.
