Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I'm trying to test a new screen without destroying the old one. The ribbon connector on the motherboard is white and has no "grips" to free the clip. It doesn't look like the black connector I've seen in another post on this site. This may have something to do with it being an MCD. Any knowledgeable advice would be much appreciated. Trying not to destroy this thing...

I think the clips are meant only as strain relief and aren't really necessary in this case as the cable doesn't move very much once the machine is closed up. My guess is that the connector in the MCD was probably cheaper so they went with that to save money during production.

It shouldn't matter as long as the ribbon cable is the same type and that you have it oriented the correct way.
