HOW MUCH DO YOU SPEND FOR RECORDS?

i normally get a couple 25 cent or 48 cent 45s and then get whatever cheap looking dollar and stuff albums then if im feelign rich and lucky i might drop 3 bucks on something. haha but i mean i nromally sjtu grab a hand full of 25 cent 45s and get liek at least one good smapel off them.

As little as possible.

I usually spend 10 dollars everytime I get records...


I usually get 60 to 100 records everytime....

If youve been digging at the place since you where a kid then they hook you up.....

Most days I will just walk into the shop and drop the owner and the workers by some special nugs....
SOme herb...
And then on the days I have no money....I just walk in there and pick up a good handfull for free.. Or I will walk in there and they will have records waiting for me.......




YOu should always make good friends with record shops....

I mean Ive been in and out of the shop 30 times a month....

And if Iam getting 50 records at least everytime you have to have space.. hahah

yo, its this spot i go to hear in cleveland, where i only pay 50cent a record, and they are in excellent condition, eveytime i go i spend about 5 bucks, come home with 10 records

well when i go i spend like $100 and i go around 2 times a month i have to keep op with it cuz i use them alot for djing but for sampleing i have a bunch of them but that is tru be cool with them cuz they always hook u up or they hold the heard to find Lp's sometimes to

I buy dollar vinyl for the most part when digging... Spend about 8-14 bucks a week on that...

Once a month I go to my spot that has a better selection, but costs more... Spend about 30-40 Bucks there...

ANd my hip-hop vinyl spots.... I spend at least 20 bucks a week there...

Depends on what they got and what you need. If it's a real hot spot that you stumble upon and may not be able to get back soon, drop the loot. But if it's a frequent spot and you hit it alot or know when they getting new stuff you kinda hold back. I've never spent over $20 on one record, not saying I won't, but not really seeing that.

I usually get the $0.95 records, and ill buy like 5-10 of em every time i go.

But the only time i buy the $5-$15 records, are when i get a chance to preview em.

Yeah in my town Hopkinsville, Kentucky we got a thang called peddler's mall like a flea market and it is open through the week. I found a truckload old records, i copped some dollar ones aand few for 3 dollars and a 4 dollar.

I spent like 15 for six records, my pops said i spent to much should have paid like 25 cents for each or 8 bucks for all of em. Hey check out pawn shops too

Damn i been making beats for 5 years and i been diggin in boston (1 hour away). Just yesterday, i found a dope lil spot right in my town! haha (slaps himself in the face) its an old antique shop, 50 cents a record. wow.

im sure this has been said...but the key is to look at digging like a hustle. I dont go to vintage record stores where the store owner clearly knows the worth of his vinyl....im down in ATL right now and i head out to thrift shops in the suburbs of Georgia, where people have no idea how dope they records are.

The other day i picked up a few Black Jazz pieces, a suprisingly dope George Shearing LP, some cool SLY Stone and an original copy of Donald Byrd 'street lady', for a whopping 50c EACH!. Thats how you dig. When i was younger...i would go to known record stores, thinkin i was cool...and drop like 50 bucks on vinyl that everyone else tells me is dope......but if you trying to get your own sound..i just dont think thats the way to go.

Definitely... I have a spot that has some great stuff... The guy knows his vinyl and charges accordingly... I only go there for a specific record and to use my HandyTrax to listen to some sh*t cause he has some rare sh*t that's not too expensive...

Like I might go get a dollar vinyl piece of a group... Now I want some more of their sh*t and I know he has it... So I got check it out and see if I there's open samples on it... If there is and it's not insanely priced I'll cop it... Everything he has there is in impeccable condition I must say though... I don't know how he does it...

But diggin for me is mostly doene thru dollar vinyl... I've found better digs like that then by spendin 15 bucks for some sh*t...

A music lover will pay whatever the cost, that's why. If it's for sampling, look at it like this, the beat will most definitely leave my hands for more than 40 dollars.

i feel u...however i feel as thought a lot of amateur diggers get caught into paying top dollar for records that if they could find on their own at dollar stores and such if they just put a little effort into it. ....nothings better than hitting up that garage sale where owners are selling crates for $20 bucks, or when you run into that long lost uncle who has a rediculous jazz collection that he was going to throw out before you said you'd take them off your hands....

true...if you are nice with the beats...clearly its a great return on your investmenet...but i cant see myself droppin $40 on no vinyl...unless its a special piece ive been looking for forever.
