I need detailed instructions to install MPC 3000 backlight

I have an S3000xl with a perfect backlight and an MPC 3000 with a non working backlight. I want to do a switch a roo and the s3000xl seems pretty simple to get the back light out of. I just need detailed instructions on how to take apart the MPC 3000 and replace the backlight. Does the MPC 3000 require soldering to replace the backlight?

Well my s3000xl is worth $100 and my mpc 3000 is worth $1000+. I don't use the s3000 at all. Plus I'm not crippiling it I'm just putting a dimmer backlight into it. I don't even think I'm going to do it anyway because I don't want to take a chance messing up my 3000.

dont forget that the s3000 can be used for so many other parts too. an inverter, backlight, data entry potentiometer with cap, numerous parts from the power supply, tact swithes and lcd screen would set u back 400+. so crippling a perfectly good s3000 is probably a good idea considering that u can get one for 100 bucks.

Is there a specific type of solder I should get for resoldering the 2 wires?

Can I solder the contacts for the screen on the other side of the board or do I need to solder them onto the side where it was originally connected?

Remount it the original way...

As in ...... how said back light would have been mounted from the factory.

I'd say go get some help. The way you're asking about soldering makes me think you're not really that used to it.
