I have an LE with VGA, internal microtech card reader (two drives in one), 32mb and its clean as a whistle. That's gotta be worth more than $900, right?

can anyone in the LA area / SFV area comment on 3k prices.....

I see people wanting like 1000+

what do you think they would really take for them 800 600 even?

I don't see many 3ks for sale in Seattle. When I do they are 1000+. I caught a well-loved LE for $650 in the summertime though. Needed some button replacements (piece of cake), but I got $1400 non the bay for it by starting it at $1. I still think $1000 for a nice one is cool. I'd pay that if I needed one. There are more of them in LA then up here, I bet you can get a good deal if you're patient.

That's the reflection. The MPC is chrome. A beauty it is.

I' would pay over 2500USD for an actual NOS MPC3000. NOS means that it would have to be in it's original box unopened. I'm the type of person that collects those types of things.

It would be kind of difficult for the seller to verify that it was never taken out and used, right? Couldn't they just clean it up, wrap it in the packaging and just re-tape the box? Or is it more complicated than that?

Two layers of tape on the box. Worn IEC power connector. Scratches appear in the audio jacks with any usage. List goes on. It's not difficult.
