Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Tristared Sat Mar 06, 2010 3:54 pm
Hello All,

Just got my 2000xl through the post today (my third - didn't get on with the 2500, so I've gone back).

All's well apart from the fact the above is missing (quite how anybody managed to leave it out is completely beyond me - the seller isn't responding).

Anybody have any idea where I can find a replacement?

It is the exact same drive as the ones for sale on MPC Stuff...

in fact here's the link:

http://www.mpcstuff.com/2000xl-mcd-mult ... drive.html

Or can anyone tell me which pins to solder up to the exsisting plug on the akai for powering the original floppy drive.

Any help would be, as always, hugely appreciated.

Use the original floppy drive connector on the mother board, red/black.

Spliced to red/black wires on the flash drive.

BTW, just so you know, that IDE card reader you bought from MPCStuff for $125 will only let you use a 1GB CF card, while our SCSI Card Reader for $119 lets you use an 8GB CF card.

Anyhow, we sell a power cable that you plug into your existing floppy power plug, in case you don't want to be cuttin on your MPC. You can see it here:

Just scroll down to the Floppy Drive to Molex Hard Drive Adapter. Contact me directly if you need help.
