synch count in with mp and daw

I'm new to the board, but I've been browsing for a couple years.

My question is if I got the mpc as master and ableton 7 as slave, how do I have ableton count in with the mpc? When I hit rec on the mpc, ableton starts right away without a count in.

The salve only follows the count-in set by the master, so if you have a 2 bar count-in on the MPC then the recording will start after that for both of them.

That is what I want for it to do, but it doesn't. The slave is turning on before the end of the count in. As soon as I hit record on the mp, ableton has already started.

How have you synced them together? What settings are you using within Ableton?

I don't understand. It might be something real simple. I've checked through out much of this board and others.

in my opinion not possible

workaround : if your 'count in is x measures'

then set the beginning of the loop brace (='punch in') in Ableton after x measures
then if you hit rec on MPC, ableton will allready begin, but will only start recording at the moment of 'punch in'
