Hi there
I've had my MPC for 5 days now and am becoming more and more accustomed to it. I'm at the stage now where I want to load/record sounds into my MPC that I have stored on my PC, and I have a couple of questions for you guys who have more experience with it than me.
OK, so my first issue is that I've run into a little problem where most of the wav sounds I use with my DAW aren't compatible with the MPC. I'm finding that most of my sounds, once imported to the MPC, play a loud distorted sound rather than the sound that I want. I'm GUESSING that this may be because these wav files aren't 16 bit, which I know is what is needed to load into the MPC. What I'd like to know is, is there a quick way to convert all my wav sounds to 16 bit without having to export each single one individually via software such as Audacity or my preferred DAW? For example if I have a sound pack of 65 kick drums and they all need converting, it's gonna take me a long time to go through each one individually and convert them all. Are there any programs you know of that can do them all at once for me?
And onto my next question, which regards recording into my MPC..... so far I have recorded some sounds from my software such as Hypersonic into my MPC. I am not using any MIDI connections for this but rather using a cable that connects my PC's audio output to the 2 'Record In'" inputs on my MPC. I have my MIDI Controller keyboard connected to the PC via USB and I play/record the notes I want into the MPC. Now this has worked out fine for me EXCEPT for the fact that I am getting some background noise when I record in this way. What I'd like to know is, is this because of the simple connection that I'm using? i.e. would this background noise not come through if I used a MIDI connection between the MPC and the PC instead?
Many thanks for your help!
