reaper mmc?mtc?

hi i would like to sync reaper with the mpc to track all my beatz into reaper ..

can i sync reaper via mtc or mmc ?

i know this is not the reaper forum but there are few users working with it...

mtc works
midi clock works (reaper calls it SPP)

but from what i can tell it only seems to respond to mmc start and stop and not the locate buttons. (so your bar buttons wont skip around the timeline when the sequencer is stopped)

yes, you can sync the mpc to reaper with midi clock or mtc.

it seems that some people have gotten mtc to sync correctly, while alot of others have not gotten it to work accurately.
i've spent lots of time trying to get mtc to sync correctly, and on my setup it just doesn't work. i can get reaper to follow my mpc and sync up, but each time the actualy placement is off by a random amount. not accurate at all... but like i said there are definitely some people that have gotten it to work correctly, i just aint one of them though

Still trying to work it out myself . One thing I know you have to do is set up your computer / interface to send / receive the midi , then set up midi in Reaper . My interface doesn't have midi so I bought a midisport 1x1 and made all the connections but didn't have luck with syncing . I got reaper to recognize the mpc , but no sync .

i dont know if you did this already, but if you right click on the play button it brings up the sync settings. if you are trying to do mtc, this is the screen where you can pick MTC, enable sync, etc...

thats if you want reaper to be the slave.

if for some reason you want reaper to be the master you have to insert a timecode generator.

Thanks for the info guys. The method I was using was just to track out the loops which I sequenced and then edit and line them up to where they are supposed to be. I have to give this a try, because I got too confused before and just went back to what I know.

u have to enable mmc/ midi cc 1st. Go to preferences/midi device , right click on your input device and set it up there.
