Huge problem with assigning samples to pads

if the samples aren't playing, you might be in the wrong pad bank.

try reassigning the samples to pads with an external app

I'm not entirely blaming the MPC, I kind of assumed that it would work beings how I followed the tutorial. There is a VERY HIGH chance that I am just **** up. Like I said before I am new to this thing and figured there was something wrong with how I did it. I got audacity since that seems to be one of the preferred programs for chopping. I need to mess around with that some more.

It dawned on me that the problem may be in the saving. Will samples conflict with each other if I were to save the entire memory project but left the OG sample files on the MPC? I thought of this the other day but haven't had the time to mess with it more. When I can, I will delete all the OG samples and just leave the files the MPC saved when I saved the entire memory project.

Or, try some of the other suggestions haha...thanks fellas.

I have had similar problems before, the bitrate for the samples are correct. If you have PC, right-click on one of the samples. Yes, they all need to be in .WAV format, more specifically, PCM Format. I don't know why, but they do. Also, a lot of people here reminded me to make sure there are no special characters in the sample names, keep them as short as possible, like 8 characters or less. The 500 doesn't have a large display, which might be part of the problem; plus, any time I name any kind of file for a computer or anything else, the simpler the better. Everything else all the rest of them say is true, though. That's all I got for now.

The problem was in the saving, and probably the naming too. I made sure they all had simple, different names, and once I saved the entire project...I deleted the OG samples from the MPC and everything works perfect now.
