Roland fantom x and roland juno g help!!!!!!!!!!

Hey ppls.. whats good? basically i want to buy a workstation for my mpc.. im buyin it in a week.. basically my decision is between the roland fantom x8 and the korg m3.. the problem is i have a buddy that owns a juno g and i hate the living shite outta that thing.. i just found out the juno g and the x8 have the same processor engine.. does this mean they have all the same sounds? if anybody knows can they give me some differences about the 2?? also i want to kno what you would recomend between the korg m3 and roland fantom.. im doin hip hop and dance tracks.. thanks and much love to all my ppls

Yes they have the same exact sounds. There is more sounds in the fantom tho. I personally do not like korg sounds at all. I would get a motif over the roland and korgs.

I had the fantom x and juno G.

I havent used the fantom G,Im sure it has some of the same sounds.It has a ton of sounds tho. It also has alot of sounds from the Roland SRX cards.

No I do not like fantoms. The synths and srx cards arent bad tho.

The Fantom X and the Juno G are NOT the same.
The Juno G would be more like the Fantom XA which was a cut rate Fantom.

It does use the SRX cards and same form of sound generation but it it doesn't have the features or sound of the Fantom X.

Just compare the 2 and you will quickly see the obvious differences as well as deep rooted differences.

Also keep in mind that for what you will pay for a used Fantom X8 you can get a Fantom G6.

is the g6 all that much better than an x8? most ppl seem to tell me they are basically the same but 1 has a mousepad lol..

Not sure why you are after a X8 instead of X6?

The G has more available effects per channel, improved sequencer, new card format, different workflow, USB works differently etc.
Most features got carried over from the X to the G but some did get dropped.

The two units sound different, meaning the X and G.

You may have a hard time finding the 2 in one place to compare.

I never messed with a Juno G before, but my fantom-xr get arrived from UPS today. I been wanting one for years, I used to go to the guitar center just to mess around with it, and it only, then leave. Personally I like the fantom, it fits the kind of music that I make. I like the organs, synths, leads, electric pianos and guitars. Strings are good but I have a lots of other gear that provides me with good strings too (Motif classic rack, JV1080 w/ orchestra rom-->this one is my favorite for strings). If you read some reviews you will probably see that a lot of people think it is gears towards trance, and in my opinion it is. That may work well for you since you say you are doing dance. You said hip hop too, but it depends on what type of hiphop. I don't make trance but those sounds fit into what I do, which is more commercial southern rap, pop, and R&B. The output on the fantom doesn't sound as good as my other equipment, when I was reading reviews I saw a lot of people were complaining about the A/D converters(<---is this correct). I never messed with a M3 either, but I do own a Korg MicroX. I'm not too sure if the 2 should be compared to another (The MicroX is just the smaller version of the Korg X50), but it is working with the triton soundset. I think I got mind maybe 2 years ago or so for $300.

Lil Stunt, this isn't at you just replying about the sound of the Fantom.

Nothing wrong with the sound of the Fantom.
The overall features of the Fantom allow you to build sounds with more depth than the Juno so even if by some chance they had the same sound it wouldn't be the same sound.
If that's makes sense.

The Korg, Yamaha and Triton family synths all have variations in their output and simply require you set them up correctly.
Same is true with something like a MPC or MV.

Most people want to be able to just plug and play so they get caught with the showroom syndrome.

They all have different points at which that they will distort, lose headroom or wash out so you have to set it for your setup not just turn it on/turn it up.

I love my Juno G. And In my opinion, It's never really about what sounds you have and what equipment you have but how you use it says a lot. For instance, on a Juno G, there are a bunch of different effects to be applied to any given patch. its really all in how they are applied. Also, everything always sounds better in the store or when you watch a video demo on youtube. the sounds that are being used have more than likely already been tweeked to the liking of the "demoer" or by store staff or even other people who come in to the store to play around with it. All of this should be taken into consideration when buying any synth or workstation.

ALSO... Roland puts great sounds into their poducts. But i love Yamaha for the strings. But the Fantoms have some sexy strings if you know what you're doing lol and another thing is if you can't play piano too well, every sound will always sound better when played by a pro lol. I hate watching the product demos cuz I be like WTF...I wanna play that like that lol smh.
