Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

I have a 2 Bar Sequence. I have created a Midi Track since I am playing a sound module with my mpc pads.

In this track I have two events....playing a lead pad

001.01.000 32/A01 D:3800 V:127 T:0
002.01.000 34/A03 D:3800 V:127 T:0

When I press Play/Start , it only starts playing the A01 measure at about 001.02.000.
Once it goes through the first loop then it plays correctly at 001.01.000

so basically it sounds like on first pass thru sequence that the module starts playing late

Does anyone know how I can solve this?

****UPDATE*****

I have been messing about and I now know the issue....its because I use the program change number in my Track (MAIN - Sequence Screen) to change the sounds on my module. I have it set to OFF the timing is perfect. If I change it to say 45, then the issue occurs.

any gurus know how to overcome this?

I now have entered in STEP EDIT ( I have set Program Change to Off on my track in Sequence)

001.01.000 PROGRAM CHANGE 45
001.01.000 32/A01 D:3800 V:127 T:0
002.01.000 34/A03 D:3800 V:127 T:0

but the first note still is missing a bit at the start

I tried moving it to 001.01.001 but it still doesnt sound right

do i have to use msb and lsb on track (window > program change)

I have used the same method you are using to change multis in the MPC and patches in external synths - i.e. insert the prog change as the very first event of the track and move any events also at the very start of the track forward by 1 tick or so.

This seems to work ok when the multi being loaded is quite simple, (no effects, 20 or so samples).
I have had missing notes only when trying to call complex multis.

As far as changing presets on external gear - it depends how fast that gear responds.

My Waldorf Blofeld changes multiple patches instantly with no missing notes or strange noises.

Changing fx programs on my DP/4 takes about 0.5seconds and is a noticable delay.

Cant think of a solution unfortunately

Press window button when you are at the Program Change field, enter the bank msb/lsb numbers there, close window and scroll to the program change number you need. Delete the program change event in step edit and it should be flawless. This is how I sequence.
