Hi, I am a Akai MPC User from america , and I was told Akai uses your sensory technology. As i'm sure you are well aware, the first runs of MPC model 1000 had a propietary pad-sensing design which was heavily flawed. so they went back to the sheet sensor technology, and started installing them on newer models of the MPC 1000. There is also a Akai licensed "pad fix" kit which involves the old-style pad sensor design(sheet sensor) available through two specific retailors, www.mpcstuff.com and www.vstservice.com, both available at $180 USD. As MPC 1000"classics" and older back models become increasingly more available on E-Bay and second hand musical shops, I started to wonder if there was a solution at the source. I know you manufacture the sensors for theMPC line dating back to the days in which Roger Linn was involved in the design of the machines. But you, the patent-holder and inventor of this great technology, must be able to offer a less expensive more responsive solution. If so, is there a price on bulk order? And how would I go about purchasing a new, improved, more responsive pad sensor?

At one time we manufactured a custom sensor for use in Akai’s MPC. We haven’t sold any of these for years. Custom FSRs ® can be manufactured, but significant engineering and tooling charges apply. Opportunities, therefore, must be of a high volume ($100K+ annually) to warrant the fees.
