Prioritizing Mute Group Events After Recording

Hi, I am hoping you can help me figure something out...

I set multiple drums to the same mute group. When I record, each new pad mutes the others.

The problem is, when I play back, the muting is not captured the way I recorded it. I think that maybe during playback the mpc doesn't know what is supposed to mute what! or in other words, it doesn't know the order I originally muted them in. I know that muting is generally used for pad events that are staggered, rather than simultaneous. But...

I was wondering if you could tell me how to capture my mute-order properly. I can't seem to find any previous posts on this topic, leading me to believe I might be missing something simple.

This happens to me to when overdubbing. I would either erase the parts that are unneeded or completely re record the drum track.
