Records of the month (September):

RANDOM: (dollar bin)Lawrence Welk- CHRISTMAS WITH LAWRENCE WELK

THEME: “peter pan” :any peter pan you can find.

    SPECIFIC Artist/Composer: “Tchaikovsky” pressed 1970-1975

BREAK: “Red Bone”- Wovoka, 1973, Epic.

    LABEL: “Tamla”

    $ECRET WEAPON: Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66 “Ye-Me-Le”

Guidelines:

1. Timeline: Beat submissions are open for the whole month:

2. Must use above record(s) to create a beat.

3. Exempt drum and bass sounds: this means that you can use your own drums and bass sounds to build the beat….more “credit” to those who don’t!

4. Description : All entries should describe where everything came from and how they made it. this will allow extra “credit” to go those who got every sample from the record, or pulled off some trick, and allow those who might have made a hot beat but bent or broke some rules to state their case.

5. Judging: We will all vote for your favorite at the end of the month. The beats that fall under each category will be compared to those of the same category....there will also be an "all round best."

6. Record of the month Captains: these are the guys who pick for the consecutive months: (to get on this list, please PM me, first come first served)If things go faster, we might switch to bi-monthly categories.

    1.Cyrus-september
    2.Bidi-october
    3. Archetype_J-november
    4. jorge Guzman-december
    5. Earnest Magilakutti-january

Lets Have Fun!!!!

If you got any suggestions on how to work better picks....but for now well stick with those....I hope you join in butcher!

yeah! There isnt a really better way to choose em, that i can think of...i tried to get a few that are pretty common, like the peter pan, and the lawrence welk...that way, you can just hit the dollar bin.....with peter pan you probably have 20 differant ones to choose from.

And I also figured that with the "specific artist/composer" that they must have like a time period, that way you have a broader selection....there are about a million Tchaikovscy's....he's a composer like betoveen, so lots of symphony records that do his works....like manatovi.

Thats also why i stuck in the "label" category, so that if you cant find the other specific ones, you can just search for a label, and hopefully find it in the dollar bin......cause it be nice to get lots of people to join in, and if you dont wann spend lots a $$$$ to do it either.

im workin on mine now......and i dont have the lawrence welk, I gotta go get it tomorrow.

peace.

I have none of these... I have a Sergio Mendes record... He's got some killer samples.. Really obscure loops...

If I can grab any of these I'll join in...
