mpc 1000 crashing

yo. i just recently got an mpc1000 after having an mpc2000xl for a few years. within the first hour of using it crashed making the most hectic noise my ears have heard in a long time (white noise absolutely cranked to the SHITMAX). so ive read around, rebooted, reset, installed the up to date official os and then swapped to the jj os but to no avail. still getting this ridiculous niose. sometimes it sounds as if its going through all the sounds in the soundbank but with heaps of distortion (kind of like circuit bending) which makes me think its a hardware fault. i have a 1gb flash card which whenever i insert i instantly get WHITE NOISE! and sometimes it has given me the error

but when this happens it dosent make the noise. any help would be of great assistance! im far too poor to pay for anyone pro to look at it.

Yes- the one from AKAI..

hmm.. gently try removing it and reseating it. See if you can force the machine to recreate the error. This happened to me before but it was only on the Akai os

It seems the crashing has stopped ,after reinserting the extra RAM..
Can it rely be so easy?

Sometimes it can. Hopefully this is one of those cases . The machine is so dependent of the RAM that any little inconsistencies send the machine into a retarded tantrum.

its not over... now the MPC just crashed with "CPU ADRESS ERROR"
and it was just standing ,doing nothing..
grrr.. I got this machine to have a steady hardware platform , what a joke!

was this machine purchased new? Has it been dropped or anything spill on it? Also what type of RAM is in it?

Brand new only 6 moths old..
the ram is: Mutec DMC-12 SDRAM DIM for AKAI ( 128MB )

i run JJOS1 4.99 and have sandisk extreme3 CF 16GB

6 months?!!? I would look into contacting the store and trying to obtain a replacement.

I will just give it one more try ,maybe it is running hot? the MPC is not crashing in the beginning of at work session - so i will try to change the surface it is standing on..
Or just move outside- into the snow.brrr
