JJOS 3.09 chopping help/ upgrading ram help

hey guys I just got an mpc 1000 nd have jjos 3.09 free version and am struggling chopping my samples. chopping by ear is one thing and pulling out specific sounds is not a problem however if i want to chop up say an 8 or 16 bar loopnd use sliced sample to assign to pads, i can never get it even and playing out the whole loop tends to be difficult. does this ever involve timestretching or tempo before the cut? i feel like i am somehow restricted by the options im given because on most videos there is a combine feature etc. HOW DO I GET THS?

im completely new to this and have absolutely no idea how to go about doing anything or what the standard software setups are. help.

also im wondering how one would go about updating the ram
