I'm getting sick of just dealing with this. The notes disappear with NO WAY to undo. Here's how to duplicate:

-Sequence a drum pattern with notes that are far off the normal grid, such as 1/16 triplets.
-Enter drum grid
-Hold shift and press F3 to enter Pattern View (or just press window in OS2)
-Congrats! Remember your carefully sequenced notes that were far off the grid? GONE FOREVER

Is this on the 1000 or 2500?

I'm bumping this to raise awareness for the problem. EVERYONE Please use the bug report link to send a report on this problem. Use your own words if possible. At the very least, we need JJ to make it so that notes aren't instantly erased when going into this mode.

And for those sleeping-- JJ's Pattern View is one of the most powerful feature in JJ OS. No other machine has anything quite like it. The speed and precision for tuning a bar of drums (velocity timing, and duration) is untouchable.

Aright JJ just wrote me back:

It is checked that a bug is in the pattern View of OS2.
However, the bug is not checked in OS2XL.
The bug which you reported may be differed from.
Your bug is unreproducible.
NOTE is not lost even if it operates it similarly.
Some bugs are corrected by the following version. (OS2 Ver1.28, OS2XL Ver1.25)
Please report, if the same bug also produces the next version.
The next version is a schedule of upload in April. (OS2 Ver1.28, OS2XL Ver1.25)

I'm not sure how he could only reproduce on OS2. I'm going to make a project file to send him showing the issue in XL. I'll be so psyched if he fixes this.

Damn fine job right there... Interesting how he already has a scheduled release date for an update, I wonder what else will be fixed in update. I'm going to finally get around to reporting a few bugs I found in the loop edit mode. I'll post them on here hopefully tomorrow so that others can check it. As long as he's fixing this, he may fix that. I would think it would have to do with the release of the pay sequencer, but since the two are no longer supose to be compatable... who knows. Anyways, the bug I'm refering to has to do with changing tracks, then returning to find assigned pads have changed. I've been trying to work with the loop pattern mode to allow for more than the six pads. I'll get back on this. Hopefully he will add the 16 pads to LE in the 1k. Tap button would be cool too. Any update always welcome though. Looking forward to bringing my 1k into 2010. Peace.

cosign! he should just get rid of that entire 6 pad view on the 1000 and make all of grid edit 16 pads (just like the 2500).

I went to try to reproduce the bug I was talking about. First thing I did was turn on my Mp holding the erase button. I think that did it actually. The problem was that I would set up the 6 pads I wanted on each track so that I would be able to access all 16 pads over three tracks. Basically a workaround since there is no 16 pad screen in Loop Edit mode. Before, when I would do this, everytime I would switch tracks, the original settings would all change when I would switch back to the track. Like I said... This seems to be working now. In fact, it really works well. You can go from the 1st main screen to the 2nd main screen, switch tracks to work and record with, and toggle the Loop Edit mode on and off. All while the Mp is playing. Bad ass. The only thing you have to do is set up the pads on the tracks that you want before hand. I still plan on dropping a request for the 16 pad mode since there is an update on the way. I also want to request as tap button. Please request these things also if you want these things. Numbers always help. You with me Sooty?

As for the original bug from this thread... Confirmed. I guess it's already being worked out, so that's dope. Grid edit is one of those features that I always plan on getting deep into, but just havent really gotten to it yet. In fact, I kind of started to, but it was at a point were the view was off. If you had a sequence with notes in the 32nd range and zoomed out, the view would be strange. Then when you would zoom back in, it was different than it origanally was. I think the actual info was still intact and played correctly though. I hope I'm explaining this in an understanding way. If so, is this still an issue? I switched back to regular Ver. 2. Is there any way to zoom in in this versiion? What happens if you open a sequence with 32nd notes in Ver. 2? I'll try to mess with it tonight on the search for bugs to add to the request list. If anyone feels up to making a tutorial video of Grid Edit, to show the ins and outs... I, for one, would love it. Anyways, I think I've begun to ramble. Must go to work. Peace...

already am. i sent this request to JJ exactly one year ago. never got a response. maybe i should send it again. i can't see how this would be difficult to implement:

in GRID EDIT (6 PAD view), to get to LOOP EDIT MODE a user presses the WINDOW key.

in GRID EDIT (16 PAD view), to get to LOOP EDIT MODE is not possible!
(the WINDOW key instead opens the GRID OPTIONS screen).

16 pad view is easier to use than 6 pad view since you can see all the pads at once.
also, a user will more often use LOOP EDIT MODE instead of GRID OPTIONS.
therefore, a shortcut to LOOP EDIT MODE is desirable in 16 PAD view.

SUGGESTION:
in 6 PAD view, GRID OPTIONS is available when the SHIFT key is pressed (under F5).
so, i request that JJ put this same menu in 16 PAD view (when SHIFT key is pressed, "OPTION" will be at F5).

RESULT: the same behavior in both 6 PAD view and 16 PAD view.
WINDOW KEY = LOOP EDIT MODE.
SHIFT + F5 = GRID OPTIONS.

now i would add PATTERN mode to this request as well. (NUMERIC key should access it in both 6 and 16 pad mode).

basically, what i am requesting is the same behavior in both 6 and 16 pad views:
WINDOW key opens LOOP EDIT mode
NUMERIC key opens PATTERN mode

...but i would be happier to just drop 6 pad mode altogether. for me it just gets in the way.

Update on this issue-- I made example project and sent to JJ, using 16-3 note data. Here is the link if anyone is interested: https://www.yousendit.com/download/THE0 ... VFpMWEE9PQ

I wrote directions to make sure he reproduces the bug--

1. Load the project into MPC running 2XL.
2. Listen to the sequence.
3. View a bar of the sequence in Pattern View.
4. Notice all notes that are now missing.

So JJ's finally gonna fix this bug on OS2? I spammed the hell out of him regarding this one. Any idea if the fix is for 1000 and 2500?
