Assign MIDI to pad

Hey guys, can I assign a MIDI-sequence that I have recorded to a pad? Currently I am only able to assign SAMPLES to the pads. But I'd like to use the Pads as a "shortcut" to start sequences. Is that possible? Please help me!

I'd like to edit the sound produced by my synthesizer in realtime, when the MPC500 sends the midi-data. So converting the midi-sequence to a sample is not an option for me. Impossible?

get a korg kaosspad mini?

A korg kaosspad mini has no MIDI connections at all. o_0

but it can modify sounds in real time...
