Why won't it even play my sample?

I am using my MPC 1000 JJOS1. I connect it to my computer. It says that a Mass Storage Device has been plugged in blah blah blah. So I make a folder for the samples I want to import which span between 500KB and 2MB. When I then disconnect the MPC from PC and go to Load and press play it doesn't even play them. Although they show up, it won't play them. HELP.

Also, make sure that each of the individual samples have less than 16 characters in their name.
