Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

I want to use my mpc2000xl as the centerpiece. I'm working with a korg triton, roland jx 305, proteus 2000, and mo phatt. I can midi everything up to where I'm able to control the sounds with the mpc seq. My question how do I save the seq./beat and recall it later? I read something about inputting control changes into the mpc for each midi track I'm using. Would this help to be able to access each bank on my modules by inputting the control change msb/lsb? I just want to be able to recall everything once I load the seq. in my mpc. Am I on the right track/ Is this how it's done? Could someone please put this to rest once and for all???

msb/lsb is simple midi messages whicjh the MPC can handle. To figure out what msb/lsb messges are used depends on the manufacturer of the equipment.

One thing to try is to set the external gear to transmit bank and program change messages and on the MPC go into STEP EDIT. Change to a different program on the external gear with it's midi out connected to the MPC's midi in and the message should show up in the screen.
