Mp heating up... Ever notice this?

I went diggin today for the first time in a long time. When I got back, I turned on my Mp and put one of the records on top of it. After playing several records, I grabbed my Mp and it was hot as hell. I'm asuming that the record blocked it from cooling itself. Anyone ever notice this before?

yeah mine gets hot more so top/back panel behind where the screen sits.

yeah... even the manual mentions it heating up quickly... it's normal.

Just be careful, only use your MPC on a surface where it will ventilate. I often use a book to tilt my MPC, it helps exhaust heat and makes working more convenient.

Yeah, I'm not talking about the regular heating up. It always gets warm, but this sucker was hot! I just had no idea it needed ventalation like that, especially since the 1k doesn't have any slots to ventalate it. Just a word to the wise not to throw stuff on top of your Mp when it's running. Especially records that have the plastic sleeves on em... Must take care of your gear my friends...

You can consider buying a notebook/lap top cooler. I recently purchased one because I wanted to incline my MPC 1K to view it at a better angle. It has a lip that prevents the MPC from sliding down. It is made out of aluminum (I believe) which helps keep it cool and two USB powered fans are built should you need them.

my mpc even when turned on for a long time never heats up very much! abit around the screen that s it.

it would not affect the temp when i put someting on the front.

I worry about my MPC's condition when playing in smokey environments.

I am a poor man so wen the mpc gets hot i just leave it on (NOTE REPEAT obviously)

get some tortillas n cheese... put some cheese in between a tortilla... fold it in half... leave it on top of your mpc for a few minutes... and BAM!! YOU GOT A QUESADILLA MUFUGGAH!!
