how many programs can i have loaded at the same time?

Hey there i just got my new Mpc 5000 with the extra RAM in it and i'm wondering how many programs (including drums) can i have loaded at the same time? cause i pretty much figured out that there's a limit on how many we can have in the auto load but i still don't know what's that limit.

depends on the size of your samples within your program. Be careful loading too many programs (especially ones with weird names), the 5k may freeze/crash more frequently.

believe it or not, I've downloaded sounds from the net that had names like that.

this is definitely true, keep your names short, with little spaces and no periods. the 5k hates long names specially when they have periods in them. it WILL crash your machine.

The same thing as for a UNIX operative system -- try to avoid commas, colons, quotes, parenthesis, brackets, expression marks, apostrophes, equal signs, periods, question marks, spaces, slashes, or identifiers (&, *, $, +, @, ^, %, #, etc.). Although it's okay to bind words (i.e., substituting spaces) with hyphens (-) and underscores (_).

If you like to load lots of synth pgms be mindful that the limit is 150 pgms. even though synth pgms are small in size the limit on the amount og pgms is 150.
