MPC2500 DVD ROM Drive Malfuctioning? Please help!

Hi everyone,

I could really use someone's help right now. I just recently sold my fully loaded MPC2500 w/JJ OSXL on ebay in hopes to downgrade to an MPC1000 or bump up to a 4000 in the near future. Anyway, the buyer has notified me that the DVD ROM drive is broken. I tested it before selling it and it read discs fine. No problems. The buyer claims that whenever he/she reads .wav content from a disc, it only loads 10 files before giving her scrambled code? I hardly ever used the DVD drive since it has USB slave mode and an internal 80 GB hard drive, so the DVD ROM drive was useless icing on the cake for me. Can anyone please tell me if this is normal behavior for the DVD ROM drive in an MPC2500 w/JJ? Like I said, I have never tried loading more than 10 .wav files from a sample CD/DVD ROM disc. Please help! The buyer is demanding that I buy him/her a brand new $200.00 DVD drive, but apparently it does read .wav files, but just not more than 10? I don't know what to tell him/her. Is it really broken? Please help!

Ask him/her to reinstall the OS. If there's a hard drive, ask him/her to format it.

Do you mean that I should ask the buyer to reinstall/reboot the version of JJ OS XL that is currently running on the machine, or are you saying to reinstall the OS back to the original akai OS? If simply reinstall/reboot the current JJ OS, then are you aware of a bug or limitation with using the DVD drive with the JJ OSXL? Thanks in advance for your advice and clarification.

if it worked before you sent it then they are pulling a dodgy one, so search eBay for your rights on the situation. don't pay them jack shit if you have reasonable doubt that they may be trying to con you.
