How do you take your Ableton warped slices in your MPC?

Hey all, I need some help.

I just got ableton suite 8. Through reading and videos, I have learned the greatness of warping and slicing in program.

But that's all I really want to do in ableton.
I want to take those ableton slices and export them into my mpc to sequence there.

Does anyone know how to export each slice of my sample into individual waves?

I love software and hardware, but I just feel more comfortable creating on an mpc.

the easiest way would be to sample them into your mpc.

abelton does not actually slice the audio. It just use different reference points for each slice.

unfortunately live chops non destructively and you can not export individual audio slices. another alternative would be resampling slices you want within live and exporting it individually as wav files. this maybe bit time consuming in long run though.

if you're on windows based platform, Wavosaur is another free app to get the job done.

There are a few functions that can help. Get familiar with 'Crop Sample', 'Freeze', and 'Flatten.'

If none of those do the trick, then use a separate audio track to resample whatever it is you want to export to the MPC. Your samples will show up inside the Project folder, under Samples/Processed.

You may need to use one or more of the above functions together to achieve your objective.

midi up the mp and contol live with it!
do all your sequencing in the mp and the editing in live.
I do the when i feel like using warps!

Warp it again if it's not set to do it automatically
Slice to MIDI
Right click on any of the samples in the new drum rack and click 'show in browser'
Right click on any file in the browser and click 'show in explorer (or finder)'
All your chops will be there to drag to the MP

hmmm. i don't see how that'll work. you're still not resampling the slices into individual files.

hmmm. i don't see how that'll work. you're still not resampling the slices into individual files.

Yeah you're right. You need to chop it manually (slice n crop) after you resample it.

Sometimes it's annoying how 'indestructive' Live is.

I really wish there was an "export drum rack" option. Time to start nagging them.

In the meantime, I use a chromatic midi clip I've saved out and trigger each slice as I'm recording, then bounce that and throw it in a wave editor with transient detect and bounce those slices. Kind of a pain, but do-able.

Little bit off topic, but propellerheads need to update Recycle to V3 to do some clever ableton-esque warping (prior to slicing) and export to .pgm. (bluebox is handy but a hassle).

Well this sucks! Warp is an amazing tool but it doesn't play well with others. Here is what I figured out as a go around.

Warp files
export out of ableton
open a daw (sonar for me)
match bpm
slice to beats
bounce clips of each slice
save slices

it's the fastest way I found in my work flow.

As for recycle, at least v2.1 plays with mpcs and export slices!
