Pad 15(play from) problem

I hope wat im about to explain makes sense to you people

In trim mode(Sampling)the last 4 pads (pads13-16) are very useful to me when sampling.pad 13(play loop) loops the part highlighted in the sample, pad 14(play to) plays just the begining of the highlighted part of the sample for few secs, and pad 15(play from) is surpose to play from the end of the highlighted part of the sample, and pad 16(play all) is surpose to play the whole sample outside of the highlighted part to the very end of the sample.

my question is how come PAD 15 (play from) is not working for me when i want to play from outside the highlighted at the end.?? i really think this is an mpc fault though.i do not think its a setting problem. i also hav the mpc1000 and it works very fine for me. i use the 1000(jjos) more coz i can sample alot quicker on it than the 5000(which i have for several months now)

It's because you are confused at how those pads work

Play To plays up to the Point and Play From plays from the Point.
The Point is actually the edit point in focus based on the cursor.

So if the cursor is in the ST field it will play to the ST Point or from the ST Point.
If the cursor is in the END field it will play to the END Point or from the END Point.

Put your cursor in those fields and change it's value, you will see what i am describing.
