I have the MPC2500 and before I create one is there a template out there for a 64 pad note progression? or is this possible?


I been making beats for years and own the 3000,2000 and now the 2500 using of course JJOS XL!!!

do you mean chromatic pad layout? if so os2xl is already set out like that sarting from note c1.

How to create a inst program in 2XL 1.23?

when you create a new pgm, select the f key that says inst and not the one which says drum.

I do not see it? I am using JJOS 2500 XL 1.23 and it does not have Inst selection Cord,Appregettor,Drum,Audio that is it..

you can also highlight the pgm name on the main screen and press the window key to create a new pgm too.

CB, u've been mia for a LONG minute.... Aren't 1k/2500 jjos/akai os's are damn near identical though?!?!

What going on lampdog!! yeah been doing the family and corporate world thing... I will give it a try tomorrow never knew that but also I have not been in my production studio in ahwile waste of money seeing the layout..

So by installing the 1000 OS2XL I will lose the functions above shouldnt this just included in the 2500 OS?

no i wouldnt try that. The os's are similar but id surprised if they worked on the other machine.it might even play havoc with the mpc.

Main page.
Hover over Pgm:xxxxxx.
Hit the window button.
Hit F3 (NEW).
Hit F4 (INST).
Hit MODE+Pad7.
Add a sample to position 1.
Tadaa... Your sample is now spread chromatically across the key range as specified in the INST program (default being from C1 to D#6).

Whether it be a DRUM program OR an INST program, all your pads are already set up in chromatic order by default in JJOS2XL.. i.e. A01= C1, A02 = C#1, A03= D1, A04 = D#1, A05= E1, A06 = F1, A07= F#1, etc, etc, etc.
So you don't even have to set up ur banks anymore cos it's all done for you.


p.s. I use a 2500 with JJOS2XL.
