Hi, I'm very new to this whole MPC500 thing as I literally bought it yesterday lol... I've worked most of it out myself and I'm not having any problems aside from knowing how to add bass :S... is there some sort of soundfont or patch or anything i can load in my mpc to trigger bass notes? sorry to make this my first post, but hey, you've gotta start somewhere right?

yes, you got to start somewhere. I started with reading the manual and figuring stuff out one after another.
nobody in this forum will ever give you the master answer which will solve all the problems you are having.

- read the manual
- buy the mpc500 tutorials (it´s not expensive - it will help if you don´t understand the language used in the manual)
- practice

You said you bought your MPC 500 yesterday? Nobody would have figured everything out by today....
It is like an computer.... or a computer program.... you have to learn to use it.

Give yourself some time reading the manual and practicing.

Your question was about bass, right? My suggestion - search the forum. Do you think you are the only person looking for that
bass you can hear in madlib, timbaland, premier, justice, christina aguilera songs? No!

99,9 percent of all the questions you might have with your 1 day old MPC are allready posted in this forum. And most of
them are answered. Some of them got good answers.

Good start with your Machine!

Exactly the reason why I ignored it! I also agree that it's annoying when people just ask for things cause I get it all the time, but then you gotta think this is a MPC-Forum so it's pretty much where you'd 'hope' to find answers to questions you have... but maybe im hoping for too much... It's a crazy internet.. but ta'hell with it i've found out what i needed to know and im still happy to have this forum on hand lmao. peace

Now days as the technology has evolved forums now have the Search function.
You can read the manual or master the Search function and you'll probably won't have to ask questions at all.

i'm just **** around...
as far as bass goes...you can sample records with open bass spots. or you can sample synths....tune them to your sample and play out the notes. Many ways. I always get my bass sounds from one of my synths
