Don't knock Barbara, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, or Stevie.... It might be recognizable (not if you chop and pitch it, but still could be)... But I mean it's always great to grab a nice vocal sample off of these records.. Even if it's only for your listening pleasure and not to sell...

ive sampled country before

Sh*t I just sampled a Country song tonight that is gonna be slammin when I'm done wit it... Premo's sampled Country... Their's good sh*t in every type of music... It's your job as a digger to find that music...

I understand why this thread was put up... But at the same time... Tryin to get what everyone else digs for is kinda redundant...

I've sampled albums and picked up albums that I know anyone else would've skipped over... And I've made some nice tracks with them... It ain't about what you use... But how you use it...

If any of y'all peeped the Alchemist video someone posted on here... He said it best... It ain't about the records, it's all in your head... If you had to be stranded on an island with just one record... Guess what you'd better believe you'd find a way to flip every single track on that album... Open samples or not... You'd do it cause you have to... Sometimes you gotta be like that...

I know I've spent almost an entire night tryin to filter out just vocals from a song or just the guitar line... Sometimes it don't even come out to a usable sample, but I learned so much from the experimentation that I count it as a victory... Regardless of whether I made a beat from it or not...

Never be afraid to try new music to sample... Sometimes you make out like a bandit... Sometimes you make out with an empty wallet... Either way you gotta move on and just make music...

nah just country music makes me throw up. for real. i can listen to monks chantin in a bucket for ten days in a row before i get the country shit on the platter. But has anyone heard of Dixie Dregs? haha i got this shit it was in a jazz section of some dumpy spot i dig at, shit is like country/funk/jazz. its retarded. haha. i made a few bangers outta it though.

I hate country as well, but you can find some good stuff in it..
I have a few country records from the € bin, and while most of them are useless there's a couple of them from the 70's that have been very well produced.. great warm sound and lots of open guitars and stuff.

You can even find some nice breaks if you're lucky enough.

For real... I used to sleep on Country... I just made a track tonight that is slammin from a country record... It's even got a little Electric Piano sound on it... I'll post it up in my music tomorrow... Country is a lot of sh*t, but when you find the few artists you like you'll see that you can get some nice sh*t off of it...

And if you chop a lot then you have no problems... Old country music has tons of guitar lines that you can chop and make a banger out of...

It's all about how you put your spin on it...
