givin up the mpc for software

sorry i didnt read the whole topic... nothing of it in fact just wanted to say i did the opposite

i completly ditched the DAW now... using 8 Track multitrack and only outboard... i wasted too many years with Software.

what a joke, no wonder min. 90% of todays Music sounds awufully clear,"clean" boring there is no nonlinearity.. just 0s and 1s

yeah but the sound is even secondary... dont get me started about creativity out of limitations, FUN in workflow etc...

When I quickly lay down a beat with software I feel like a craftman.
When I make a beat with the MPC I feel like an artist.

Software doesn't inspire me to be really creative. And because u can work so quickly with software I always forget to take my time to listen/feel, think and experiment.

As someone who gets bored very VERY easily "Worst attention span EVER!" I'm constantly switching from FL Studio to Reason to Cubase and each time I do switch I end up finding something new and thinking "damn I need to use this more often" lol.... so what im tryina say is, you shouldnt limit yourself to one piece of software/equipment as to it being your 'main' thing cause you could be usin one piece and be sleepin on a vital part of another! Another thing i find with my work is that if i use cubase I know that posibilities are endless so i never really utilize the program to its full potential (or at least what i can use of it) wheras if im using reason, i know i dont have those millions of high quality studio recorded vsts such as east west/trilogy etc so i work 100x harder to make up for it lol.... I dont know though im just the village mad scientist.

Absolutely. Too many options to explore can be paralyzing. Limitations are essential to creativity whether they're forced or self-enforced. MPCs can be great for that and I enjoyed using them. But in the end, MPC's limitations were just a little too limited for what I wanted to do. Maschine was just the right balance between possibilities and limitations I was looking for.

having more options doesn't paralyze my creativity, it instigates it. sometimes I dont get people... it seems like it's always "this vs that" .. people want to ONLY use one thing and thats it.. they wont even consider using both. it's like people are branding themselves and then wind up with some sort of stubborn loyalty to a product or company.

WTF? Do you feel insecure about someone posting about music gear that might very well be better than what you have? Don't take it personal, dude.

Looks like you just want to argue for arguing sake instead chiming in on the subject matter being discussed. I never got pissed about anyone's spelling. It does seem like you are though for some reason. Some dude made a silly comment about how he thought the name was not innovative. I replied with what I thought mattered when it comes to innovation, and politely correcting his mis-spelling in the process.
