sorry to bother with another short Q.

i ve read the manual about it, the explanations about "directories" etc....

i had no problem creting a new directory (Folder) but i cant find a way to actually save into it... and i am very close to what i think is the limit of files for a directory (and that on the root!)

i only know about the "change storage device" settings.. but directory???

Sounds like you've hit the file/directory limit - bear in mind its UNDER 40 (38).

Not at my ASR at this minute, but I believe that to save in a directory you'd just select it and then press enter/yes.

yes i am close to it, at 36 or 37 i think.

but no, it does not ask me for saving directory but simply jumps to the "NAME FILE" option when pressing save, and when name is set and approved it saves.... thats it

i am saving my stuff always as Instruments... is that how it should be anyway?

cafnyc wrote:A COUPLE OF ASR QUESTIONS:

2. How do I make the whole sample play like the mpc1000 "ONE SHOT"? What I do know, is I go the ENV3 - TIMES and change release to 99, but if the sample is long it fades out. How can it play full volume all the way through?

- Also, let me know if you have any tips and tricks for the ASR!

Peace.

A.

2# - ENV 3 and set it to FINISH now the WS will play in ONE SHOT

To make it more MPC'ish change to legato for each WS to the nuber of the WS.

example. for WS_1 change IT'S Legato to1 , WS_2 change legato to 2 etc.

Now the chop with be ONE SHOT and, cut each other out making is MONOphonic like the mono/poly option on the mpc.

I read online that the ASR 10 has 16 sequence tracks that you can record on. I can't find out how to utilize tracks 9-16. Lets say I want to record an instrument on MORE than 1 track; can I do this without having to copy the instrument to another instrument bank? Lets say I have a bank with my kick, snare, and hi hat. Can I record each of them on a seperate track without having to copy the instrument 2 times?

Yeah dont worry I read the manual buddy boy, dont get your panties in a bunch....

before you get all mad, do YOURSELF a favor and go to http://www.vintagesynth.com/ensoniq/asr10.php and read this.. it says "The ASR-10's sequencer has 16-tracks and with its 31 voices of polyphony you can create some pretty complete musical performances." but I guess they're lying...

It even says it has a 16 track sequencer on the Wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ensoniq_ASR-10

Yo if you download the PDF manual from the Emu website right on page 1 under the "Sequencing" heading on the bottom of the page it says "The ASR-10 is also a 16-track sequencing workstation with complete mixdown capabilities." WTF is the deal with that???

like i said if you find a way to turn 8 tracks in to 16
to my knowledge you cant have two different tracks on one track its just 8 tracks i mean you can consolidate 2 tracks to 1 but that has nothing to do with it
