Hi, i have a question about connecting a midi keyboard to my mpc 1000.

If i connect my midi keyboard, will i be able to trigger the sample via my key instead of the pad ?

Or, i'm not sure about this one but i think also that a midi equiment has some built-in sounds. If i play my key will the mpc will play the midi bank sound?

Thank you

what type of midi controller are u using? im not sure if im understanding the question properly, but check in the manual under "setting a midi note number to the pads" in chapter 12. i had the problem of trying to get my uma-25s midi keyboard controller to play samples that i had in the mpc, and this is how i did it. make sure that the midi controller in set to 'midi out' not 'midi thru'.

if you already have an mpc1000, you should be checking the manual for this... seriously. this is as basic as it gets.

no. MPCs are samplers that don't have sounds until you sample something or load some up. inserting a midi cable does not change this fact of life.
