Switching away from FLStudio to something more professional

I am trying to switch away from FLStudio so I can master a program with better features. I feel like FL's filters and EQ's aren't as good as I would like.


I am leaning towards Pro Tools. Does it have good effects and mixing? I need to able to do all the mixing and mastering within this DAW and if it doesn't have the best effects please suggest something better.

Did you realize that FL is also a VST host? You can load any VST Filter or EQ.

Is this "professional" enough?

What kind of music you´re doing? If you aint composing some classical structures with variable tempos and shit I dont see what is unprofessional about FL Studio???

Maybe a better question would be what are some good VST plugins and EQ's? More importantly EQ's.

APPLE LOGIC.. some commercial studios use instead of pro tools .. big instrument collection and effects


PRO TOOLS... benefit of industry standard easy tradinf between studio

ABLETON LIVE.. really great effects included and works well along with mpc kinda like two daws in one the arrangement view window is more like your traditional daw then the session view with the clips is where you can get wild with it


try before you buy if possible

Don't know why but I've never liked Abletons workflow, just never got it.

Is it just for mixing? Or you want to make b3@ts with it too?

I have an MPC1000 and soon an ASR-10 so primarily tracking, effects, mixing/mastering.

I got a pretty solid Computer- Quad Core, 3GHZ, 2GB RAM, 8800GT vid card so I can handle anything. Using windows XP so prob going to go with Pro Tools, although I still need to try out Cubase.

exactly what I was going to say.

I am running these:

that is a $11,000+ set of pluggins that run fine in fl studio.



and for variable tempos as somebody mentioned... it is easy to do that in fl studio.. you can have it change tempos anytime and anywhere you want. Cubase and stuff is better for recording multi track though, but fl studio is pretty much getting there in that domain too... I personally haven't gotten used to using FL that way at this point... and I haven't played with FL9 a lot yet but they added side chaining and stuff so... it leaves me trying to figure out one thing... what cant it do?

but fruity is a PRO program...
pro tools is a studio standart but pro tools le have to many cuts so i would get reaper it got eveything you need for tracking beats...and you can also called it a PROgram...instead of investing so much in a daw get some usefull plugs for it...keep it simple !!
for example the FET compressor from softube is great!!get nebula it is worth...i just bought the liquid mix and it is cool usefull ad on!!!
